“Dual Registration” for the purpose of this policy is any scout or adult leader who is registered concurrently with, and/or participating in events with, a Boy Scout Troop or Venturing Crew other than Troop/Crew 156 in Glenview, Illinois.
Dual registration is not prohibited providing that the scout, crew member, or adult discloses this fact at the time of registration with Troop/Crew 156 and declares Troop/Crew 156 as either their primary or secondary organization.
Troop/Crew 156 will not maintain advancement records or endorse advancement documents for any scout/crew member who has not declared Troop/Crew 156 as their primary Troop/Crew.
The Scoutmaster and Committee Chair may not be dual registered at the unit level with other troops or crews. This does not apply to provisional troops (Makajawan; Jamborees; Philmont).
Troop/Crew 156 operates a very active outdoor program and, at times, has limited availability for participants. Participation priority for both regular and high adventure activities will be: 1) Troop/Crew 156 members; 2) Troop/Crew 156 dual registered members who have elected Troop/Crew 156 as their primary organization; 3) Troop/Crew 156 dual registered members who have elected Troop/Crew 156 as their secondary organization.
This policy is not applicable to a scout or leader who is transferring into Troop/Crew 156 from a different troop/crew with the intent of letting their registration in the other organization lapse at the end of the current registration period (regardless of other troop/crew location).
Troop/Crew 156 will accept Council Advancement Records of anyone transferring into Troop/Crew 156. Acceptance of interim rank advancement endorsements will be at the discretion of the Troop 156 Scoutmaster/Crew 156 Advisor.
The Troop/Crew 156 Committee reserves the right to make exceptions and grant variances to this policy on a case-by-case basis in unusual or mitigating circumstances with the recommendation of the Scoutmaster.
